Patrick and I had a visit to the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court near Leatherhead on Thursday. We were particularly interested in telling the stories of military personnel who had lost limbs through active service. It was one of the most humbling things I've done for ages. I took a bunch of photographs of Sapper Gregg Stevenson who lost both his legs to an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan. Most of the photographs were of him with his new prosthetic legs, but it was this frame which I liked the best. I thought it was more subtle to leave only a minor trace of the prostheses and instead emphasise Greg himself and the determination he's putting in to his rehabilitation.
